Birmingham XL Event
After recently running the Winners Bracket Finals in the recent MatchBox360.Co.Uk event we have been invited to attend the upcoming gaming event hosted by MatchBox360. There will be a total of around £7500 worth of prizes with a very tastey £2500 up for grabs in Rainbow 6: Vegas alone.

The event will cost a base entrance rate of £20 and there will then be a charge to enter seperate competitions. So the next few weeks will be saving up from website design and scouring the streets for stray pennies. Should be a great event if we go, be sure to discuss it in the forums!

This is going to be comedy! I better get saving! For a weekend of camping in Birmingham town centre, gaming and drinking free beer (from that special website you found, Tom!) Ha.
I wonder if we ask nicely enough, that we might be entitled to one of his many HD TV’s at the end of the weekend to further broaden our gaming horizon

I got into contact with Chris, who is hosting this tournament. I was checking on what the prizes would be and if there were runner up prizes available. This was the reply, enjoy.
Yeah I can confirm that there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd at XL. Depending on the number of players competiting the prize fund for all events will be allocated as follows:
1st = £250/player
2nd = £150/player
3rd = £100/player
…obviously if there are fewer players per event then this will be reflected in the prizes awarded but should equal approx 100% of tournament entry fees received.
For the FFA comps, all finalists may receive a prize (ie upto 8th place) but this is tbc. We are also awaiting confirmation of a potential sponsor interested in the Rainbow 6 Vegas comp so the prizes may be increased further…again full details tbc.
